Norwood pocket park nears completion; public works flags low well levels

During public comment and the staff report July 8, contractor and public-works director Randy Hintz provided progress updates on Norwood’s pocket park and other public-works items.

Contractor Ray Posse said curb-and-gutter forms were set and concrete pours were scheduled the following morning; conduit and poles for a new north-end service are installed and San Miguel Power connection is expected after conduit inspection. Posse said the stone wall and sidewalk work are advancing and the park’s meter base should be energized soon.

Public works director Randy Hintz reported the pump track is about 95% complete and the department has volunteers ready to help finish final shaping; he noted the raw-water reservoir event that uncovered a coyote den caused some washout and that the town park well is nearly dry, which could affect park irrigation. Hintz also said crews are preparing curb-and-crosswalk striping work to coincide with the new speed-limit signage.
