The Darien Beautification Commission discussed its year-end finances at the July 8 meeting in Town Hall room 206, with Treasurer Tracey Whitehead reporting a Gift Account balance of $11,165 from the "That's My Brick" fundraiser and pending checks related to the project.
Whitehead said the commission will allocate $1,113.19 to July, which leaves no remaining balance as the fiscal year closes. The body asked members to consider requests for next year's budget and to perform a full count of regular flags currently in storage at Hollowtree Storage.
The commission discussed asset details: eight flag brackets remain for Corbin Drive and members believe poles that were taken down on Post Road still hold their brackets. Members also agreed to review needs such as replacement hanging baskets and whether any additional flags are required for the coming year.
Chair Sarah Schwarz asked members to think about budget priorities and to coordinate any requested website updates through town staff. The meeting minutes record motions related to governance and adjournment but do not include formal vote tallies for those motions.
