Flower Mound Chamber outlines services and partnership as town reviews annual funding

The Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce presented its annual funding and program review at a Town Council meeting, outlining programs supported through the town’s MOU and annual funding package. Staff introduced the item and noted the town’s partnership with the Chamber since 2005; Chamber President Lori Walker and the Chamber board described membership services, the shop‑local initiative, business workshops, Ribbon‑cuttings, industry groups and major events including Fiesta Flower Mound.

Walker highlighted the Chamber’s national 5‑star accreditation, described specific programs that support local businesses (leads meetings, SCORE counseling, new‑member orientation and industry‑focused workshops), and emphasized regional partnerships and volunteer programs that help drive the Chamber’s initiatives. She noted the Chamber’s role in advocacy, business retention and in some cases partnering with the town on legislative support, citing recent involvement in the Texas Tech University Health Science Center project.

Council members praised the presentation, asked how inflation affects Chamber operations and whether membership fees remain effective for struggling businesses; Walker said the Chamber runs a tight budget, seeks sponsorships and asked staff to identify owners who might need membership fee assistance. No formal funding action was required during this meeting; staff said the presentation was provided for transparency as part of the budget planning process.
