At its July 6 meeting the Village of Whitelaw Utility Committee reviewed several operations and maintenance items, including estimates for ditch cleaning and enclosure near the third ball diamond, a plan to mail late-payment notices July 7 with disconnections scheduled for July 20, and preliminary Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) documentation for Hoover Street (project year 2028).
Public Works Director Jerry Linsmeier reviewed preliminary estimates provided by Ross Frisch for three work items: enclosing the ditch along the north side near the third ball diamond, cleaning the south-side waterway to improve drainage, and installing a surface inlet and tile to move pond water more efficiently. Linsmeier said the area remains wet and largely unusable. The committee noted Youth Sports may be interested in partnering financially; additional pricing for concrete and materials is forthcoming.
Clerk/Treasurer Sheena Kocourek presented the delinquent accounts list; late notices will be mailed July 7 and disconnection is scheduled for July 20. Minutes note one customer was disconnected the prior month.
Committee members also reviewed preliminary LRIP documentation for Hoover Street and discussed the potential to combine projects in the 2028 project year, as in past funding cycles.
The committee adjourned at 6:54 p.m.; minutes prepared by Clerk/Treasurer Sheena Kocourek are draft pending approval on August 3, 2026.
