Wind Lake board approves corrected minutes, treasurer's report; hears updates on fence and grant

The Wind Lake Management District Board of Commissioners met Feb. 3, 2026, at Norway Town Hall. Commissioner Pat Calliari called the meeting to order at about 7:10 p.m.; five commissioners or representatives were present and one member of the public attended.

The board approved the Dec. 2, 2025 meeting minutes after Secretary Jeremy Sauld pointed out a typographical error listing an earlier meeting date. County Representative Joe Bellante moved to approve the minutes with Sauld's amendment; Treasurer Todd Flunker seconded and the motion passed 5-0.

Treasurer Todd Flunker presented written and verbal financial reports for Dec. 2–31, 2025 and a year-end report for the 2025 fiscal year. Secretary Sauld moved to accept the treasurer's report as presented; Bellante seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Flunker said the district mailed required 1099 forms and received the first installment of lake dues in January.

Under old business, Flunker reported that the district paid a $5,700 down payment and had the new fence installed on the lot next to the public launch; custom roller gates remain to be fabricated and are expected to be installed in the next few weeks. Commissioner Calliari reported the documentation required for final payment of the harvester grant has been submitted to the DNR and that payment should arrive in about a week. The agenda item for Onterra/USGS monitoring was listed but generated no discussion.
