Richmond awards Wollard Boulevard drainage project to Blue Nine, $188,596

The Richmond City Council approved Olsson's recommendation to award the Wollard Boulevard drainage project to Blue Nine Construction (low bidder). The award, approved unanimously at the Nov. 12 meeting, funds design-and-build work to address local stormwater drainage issues in the Wollard and Vineyard Street areas.

Olsson's engineers presented the low-bid evaluation and explained the project scope at the Nov. 12 meeting. Council authorized the mayor to sign the contract after the city attorney and engineer completed final reviews. The project includes storm sewer installations and related grading and is expected to proceed under Olsson's administration of construction observation and contract administration.

Vote: The motion passed unanimously with an 8–0 roll call in favor.

Next steps: Staff and Olsson will finalize contract documents, coordinate easements and schedule construction; council asked staff for progress updates during construction.
