Richmond council adopts alley-maintenance ordinance, approves police saturation patrol grant

At its Feb. 9 meeting the Richmond City Council adopted Bill 16-02, amending Chapter 510 (Streets, Sidewalks and other Public and Private Property) by adding Section 4 to define responsibilities for maintenance of alleys. The ordinance was read by title only and adopted on a unanimous 7-0 roll call.

The council also approved submission of a police department annual grant application to fund saturation patrols; the motion to accept the application was approved unanimously. Additionally, the council picked three tentative dates for the 2016 household hazardous waste collection events (Sept. 17, Oct. 1, and Aug. 20) and accepted the Collector's annual settlement.

The meeting followed standard procedure with first and second readings by title, roll-call votes for ordinances and brief committee updates noting no outstanding committee reports.
