The Richmond City Council on March 8 approved a conditional use permit (Bill 16-05) to allow a dog boarding facility at 201 Wollard Boulevard and adopted Water Fund budget amendments (Bill 16-06) authorizing spending for well maintenance.
The conditional use permit was read by title twice by the municipal clerk and adopted in a 5-0 roll call. The council then approved a package of water-fund amendments: Brotcke completed servicing and testing on the water wells; proposed work would treat Well 3 (which had lost an estimated 30 percent of pump capability) with chemicals at a cost of $15,000 and pull and rebuild the pump on Well 5 (which had lost pump capacity but retained about 98 percent production) for about $6,000. Councilor Williams moved to approve the well work and Councilor Kinnard seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
Councilors described the items as standard maintenance to preserve system capacity and scheduled follow-up in subsequent finance committee discussion.
