Sherwood completes major water‑main and paving program after extra excavation, pay requests and resident complaints

Sherwood’s FY2012 water‑main replacement and roadway reconstruction program moved from bidding to construction and final closeout in 2012 after a series of contractor payments, change orders and field adjustments.

Engineer Jennifer Schaff reported multiple milestones: pipe installation reached 80–98% at different phases of the Knight Drive and village paving program; Badger Highways won the 2012 paving contract (NTE $470,419.39) and crews completed large portions of Queens Court, Kings Way and Sunset Lake Court. The Village approved periodic pay requests and change orders, including an increase and later a decrease in the final Badger contract after field corrections and additional excavation demands.

Residents raised concerns about pavement width and shoulder quality in Sherwood Forest; trustees responded by authorizing additional in‑kind pavement to widen a roadway segment to 24 feet and directing the engineer to produce cost and restoration schedules.
