Council reviews road and stormwater projects, schedules May budget work and hears Holly Lane public complaint

Councilman Sam Miller updated the Briarcliffe Acres Town Council on infrastructure work during the April 6 Workshop, saying bids for the Cabana Road Stormwater Drainage Repair Project are due May 4. Miller said he will attend the upcoming CTC meeting and that the town has requested grant funding to resurface three town roads; he also plans to obtain quotes for road repairs that the grant would not cover.

Mayor Pro Tempore Peggy Bell announced that the first Budget Meeting is scheduled for May and will include an end‑of‑March financial statement for Council review. Councilwoman Laura Pendley detailed the Town Hall beautification initiative and asked the Clerk to schedule irrigation start‑up; she also raised a question about a road survey pin location that the Mayor said he would refer to Diamond Shores for interpretation.

During Public Input a resident raised concerns about overgrowth on a vacant lot on Holly Lane. The Clerk announced dates and times for upcoming meetings, and the Workshop adjourned at 6:20 p.m. No votes or formal budget decisions were made at the workshop; Council members directed staff to prepare materials for the May budget meeting and to continue grant and bid processes.
