Ellsworth adopts Capital Improvement Program, appoints planning commissioner and trustee

The Village of Ellsworth council adopted Resolution 1-12-2026, accepting the villagec3's new Capital Improvement Program following a public hearing on Jan. 12, 2026. The hearing was opened at 6:32 p.m.; L. Spearing summarized the CIP and read the final two pages, and no members of the public offered comment.

The resolution was moved by L. Spearing and seconded by M. Bennett and carried 6-0. During the same meeting the council voted to appoint Brian Certa to the Planning Commission (motion by L. Spearing, seconded by M. Bennett; carried 6-0) and to appoint Don Ruis as a Village Council trustee to fill the seat vacated by Gregg McCallum (motion by L. Spearing, seconded by S. Sowers; carried 6-0).

Clerk Marlene Drenth noted copies of the CIP had been made available for the public. The council also approved the bills as presented (motion by S. Sowers, seconded by M. Bennett; carried 6-0) and set a Budget Committee meeting for Jan. 16 to continue related fiscal planning.
