Council approves performance bonus for Officer Ruebel; camera bids and hiring recommendation discussed

Police Chief Sullivan told the council he had a bid from ESI for City Hall cameras and said he was seeking additional bids for park cameras from ESI and FLOCK. He also presented Officer Ruebel’s worked pay periods and asked the council to grant the officer his full performance bonus for the previous year, even though Ruebel fell just short of the three-month continuous service requirement.

A motion to grant Officer Ruebel the full bonus was made by Tony Enderle and seconded by Danny Finley; minutes record the motion passed with a majority present in favor. The Police Board presented a recommendation to hire Robin Sullivan as a Communications Officer, but the council discussed the recommendation and took no motion to act on it during the meeting.

The camera procurement and the hiring recommendation remain pending further procurement work and council action.
