Votes at a glance: Crawford County commissioners approve consent agenda, vehicle purchase and executive-session motions

The Crawford County Board of Commissioners recorded several formal actions at its June 26 meeting.

Consent agenda (Motion 26-295): On motion of Commissioner Tom Moody, seconded by Commissioner Carl Wood, the board approved the consent agenda, including approval of the June 23, 2026 minutes and authorization for the chairman to sign vouchers. The minutes show Yeas: Commissioners Moody, Wood and Blair; the motion prevailed.

Signing of motions: County Clerk Lisa Lusker presented motions for signature that were prepared for routine administration, including Motion 26-290 (approval of June 16 minutes and accounts payable warrants 645791–646044 in the amount of $583,847.91), Motion 26-291 (MOU with Pittsburg State University), Motion 26-292 (authorize sheriff to bid on three lease-purchase vehicles), Motion 26-293 (appointment of Bryan Hoffman to the CTEC Board of Directors), and Motion 26-294 (a previously recorded executive-session motion). These motions were presented for signatures by the clerk.

Sheriff vehicle purchase (Motion 26-297): The board approved a $23,500 purchase of a used 2020 Chevy Tahoe from the City of Colwich for the Sheriff’s Department (mover: Tom Moody; second: Carl Wood); recorded Yeas: Moody, Wood and Blair.

Executive sessions: The board approved two closed executive sessions under K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(1) to discuss non-elected personnel (Health Department Director applicants). Motion 26-296 authorized a 20-minute executive session beginning at 10:13 AM; the board reconvened at 10:29 AM with no public action. Motion 26-298 authorized an additional 10-minute executive session beginning at 10:38 AM; the board reconvened at 10:48 AM with no public action.

Adjournment: On motion of Commissioner Tom Moody and the second of Commissioner Carl Wood the board adjourned the meeting at 10:49 AM; recorded Yeas: Moody, Wood and Blair.
