Lone Tree council approves 3% ION Environmental rate increase, contracts and festival funding

Mayor Josh Spilman called the Lone Tree City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. on July 6, and the council moved through a series of routine approvals that included a contract rate increase, resolutions and project payments.

The council unanimously approved a 3% increase to the contract rate for ION Environmental, to take effect Sept. 1, 2026, on a motion by Councilmember Zadow seconded by Councilmember Gluba. The council approved a donation of 300 hamburger buns and 100 hot dog buns to the Lone Tree Chamber for National Night Out (motion by Councilmember Hamm, second by Councilmember Ford; 5-0).

On personnel/pay matters, Councilmembers Gluba and Goedken moved to place a pay-resolution item back on the August agenda to consider possible amendments to public works pay; the motion carried 3-0 with Councilmembers Hamm and Ford recorded as opposed.
