Archie adopts Ordinance No. 388 establishing user charge system for water

The Archie Board of Aldermen voted to adopt Ordinance No. 388, which establishes a user charge system intended to provide funds to pay for expenses associated with the city’s water system.

Alderman Scott Kendrick moved to read and adopt Bill No. 388; Alderman Mark Houchen seconded. The ordinance was read for a second time and then passed on a roll-call vote: Kendrick — yes; Houchen — yes; Wiskur — yes; Lough — absent. The board recorded the measure as Ordinance No. 388.

Alderman Kendrick, who introduced the motion, also reported that 650 auto-read water meters are in place in the city and that Dusty Bryant will be contacted once the vendor is ready to begin training. The ordinance and meter rollout were discussed as part of the board’s water-system oversight.
