Council approves routine items, special events and manifest totaling $234,144

The Town Council approved routine business including the meeting agenda and minutes from Jan. 21, 2026, accepted a municipal manifest in the amount of $234,144.18, and approved two special-event applications for a Breastfeeding Awareness Walk at Strawberry Lake and an Adventure Bike Club event at Marion Park.

Chair (S2) called roll and Clerk Trish (S3) recorded responses. Questions were raised about several manifest line items, including an electrical/maintenance entry and a descriptive entry that read like "slow cooker;" staff said they would verify the vendor and purpose. The motion to approve manifest 2026-03 in the amount of $234,144.18 was made and supported; councilmembers recorded affirmative votes.

For events, staff recommended approval for both the Dickinson Iron District Health Department’s Breastfeeding Awareness Walk and the Adventure Bike Club’s use of Marion Park, noting prior years’ experience and no outstanding conflicts. Councilmember Sarah (S7) moved to approve the breastfeeding walk special-event application; another councilmember moved to approve the Adventure Bike Club event; both motions were supported and passed.

The council also handled a request to excuse Mr. Mendeini from the meeting; a motion to excuse him was made, supported and approved. The meeting concluded after brief member remarks and a motion to adjourn.
