Board seeks response from Blue Crab Solar after reported burial-site finding

Board members reported that Mike identified a burial site at the Blue Crab Solar project on Red Hill (Lakewood) and requested permission to document and photograph the site. Chair (S1) told the group he had issued a physical letter to the project's corporate office and an email to the community-engagement contact but had not received a response: “I have issued letters and emails to members of the project, company… I have not gotten a response yet,” the Chair said.

Committee members urged more direct outreach and documentation of regulatory requirements. One member (S3) asked, “Have we made them aware of the requirements in chapter 63?” and recommended sending printed copies of Chapter 63 to both the Texas corporate office and the local office so recipients cannot say they were not provided relevant guidance. The Chair agreed to follow up and said he may ask the police chief and other local contacts to help reach the project's community-engagement representative.

No formal permission or enforcement action occurred at the meeting. The board recorded plans to continue outreach to the project team, to share Chapter 63 guidance with corporate and local staff, and to document any permission or denial to visit the site for photo documentation.
