Califon board approves submission of QSAC District Performance Review to NJDOE

The Califon Borough Board of Education voted unanimously Oct. 15 to submit the district’s District Performance Review responses and Declaration Page to the New Jersey Department of Education, fulfilling a requirement of N.J.A.C. 6A:30-3.2.

The action, offered as a resolution and moved by Board President Christopher Keiser and seconded by Vice President Michael Reaves, carried on a roll-call vote. The board adopted the submission after the superintendent summarized the DPR timeline: a facilities review is scheduled for November and document review for January.

Superintendent Dr. Michele Cone reported routine performance metrics in the meeting’s administrator report: enrollment of 84 students, zero HIB incidents in the reporting period, and one two-day out-of-school suspension. The district’s HIB self-assessment earned a score of 78 out of a possible 78.

Board members expressed no objections before the vote. The board’s approval sends the DPR packet to the New Jersey Department of Education for its scheduled QSAC review. No additional conditions or contingency instructions were recorded in the minutes; the resolution text and its adoption were entered into the official record.
