Grant County commissioners on July 6 approved multiple facility and equipment expenditures and directed staff to pursue additional quotes for larger projects.
The board authorized purchase of a 32‑channel intercom system for the third floor of the county jail at a cost of $9,986.54, with maintenance and the sheriff's office to coordinate installation. Commissioners also approved a J&J Electric quote to rework elevator disconnects and cab-light wiring at the annex for $9,336.
For generator maintenance, the county approved a three‑year service plan with Mallister (all tower sites, central dispatch, juvenile center and jail) at a total three‑year cost of $55,328; commissioners noted the public‑safety importance of load testing and preventive maintenance.
Separately, commissioners agreed to pursue quotes or bids for exterior repairs and repainting of the annex building and authorized moving forward with work up to $500,000 pending procurement rules and county-council funding approval if required. The board also reviewed concrete-replacement proposals for the courthouse but voted to table that item until additional quotes are received.
All equipment and service approvals were made by motion and voice vote. Commissioners asked staff to coordinate with maintenance on counts and compatibility for additional jail intercom units and to bring outstanding quotes back to the board.
