At its March 15 meeting the Waterford Township Board of Education approved multiple personnel and student‑services items, including a retirement, position changes and a new contract for psychiatric services.
The board accepted the retirement of Maureen Pedersen, a paraprofessional with 26 years of service, effective July 1, 2023. The board also approved creation and abolition of paraprofessional positions for the 2022–23 school year, a transfer of C. McCullough from WES to Atco, and a resignation for C. McCullough effective March 17, 2023. Leave‑of‑absence notifications for several staff members were acknowledged, and the board approved appointments of substitute personnel pending required documentation.
The board approved revised job descriptions (including Affirmative Action Officer, remedial elementary math teacher, reading/development teacher, school counselor and lead custodian) and acknowledged a Perfect Attendance Award for Kate Saunders, the School Nurse at Thomas Richards, who will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.
On student services, the board approved a partnership with InSite Health Services to provide psychiatric services for district students; the minutes record the item as approved by unanimous roll call vote. The partnership was presented as part of the education recommendations reported by Superintendent Dr. Michael Nolan.
