The Taos Parks and Recreation Board met May 25 and approved the meeting minutes before discussing staffing and budget matters. President Michelle Gablesberger opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. and led the board through routine business.
The board said it is still pursuing options to fill a park maintenance position. Board members stressed ongoing staffing needs to keep up with routine mowing and field preparation during the summer season. The treasurer called for bills; board members Jim Kline and Joe Nichols turned in receipts and funds during the meeting.
Members reported the Taos City Council approved additional money for the parks budget to pay for signage and to purchase dirt for ball fields. Board members noted wood siding work is included in next year’s budget; the meeting did not specify exact dollar amounts or funding line-item details.
The board adjourned at 9:00 p.m. The next regularly scheduled board meeting is listed on the minutes as June 22.
