Taos board readies for May tournaments and June Sky Fest, thanks volunteers

The Taos Parks and Recreation Board reviewed upcoming events during its May 25 meeting, including a tournament on May 30–31 and Sky Fest planned for June 27. President Michelle Gablesberger outlined tournament hours and said the concession menu will include biscuits and gravy, pulled pork and pizza; volunteers Bonnie and Richard were thanked for cooking support.

Board members described Sky Fest programming and logistics: a planning meeting is scheduled for June 1 at City Hall. The event program listed a parade, cornhole tournament, car show, bounce houses and children’s activities, food trucks, bands and fireworks. Board members also noted pavilion scheduling is going well and asked a June 9 fish-fry group to stay off the concrete to avoid damage.

Michelle said fall soccer information will go out in July for games starting in September and that the board needs to purchase a new field striper. The minutes list the board’s next regular meeting on June 22.
