LaSalle adopts intergovernmental agreement to place a school resource officer at LaSalle Township High School

LaSalle City Council on Tuesday approved an ordinance authorizing an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with LaSalle Township High School to provide a school resource officer.

The ordinance was moved, seconded and carried on a roll call vote. Council members who voted in the affirmative matched those recorded on the ordinance motion and the vote was recorded as carried.

Council did not record substantive debate in the meeting minutes beyond the reading of the ordinance and the roll call vote. Staff will execute the IGA and coordinate with the school district and the police department to implement the officer assignment as required by the agreement.

The action is an intergovernmental, legally binding agreement authorized by ordinance; copies of the signed IGA and any implementation schedule will be filed with the city clerk once completed.
