The Board of Trustees moved into a closed session to discuss pending and probable litigation, appointment and employment matters, collective bargaining and deliberations over sale, lease or acquisition of property. Chair (speaker 1) announced there was no old or new business and said, “We only have closed session,” before asking for a motion to proceed.
A motion to enter closed session was made and seconded. The Clerk (speaker 2) conducted a roll call; President Kaufman and Trustees Cooper, Hughes, Koenig, McCarthy Lang, Novy and Torres each responded in the affirmative and the board authorized the closed session for the purposes listed by the Chair.
The Chair announced the closed session would be held in the Development Services Conference Room. After the closed session the board returned to open session; the Clerk performed a second roll call confirming members present. The Chair then adjourned the Committee of the Whole and stated the board would reconvene at 7:00 PM for the regularly scheduled board meeting.
No public comments were received during the public forum portion of the meeting; the Chair opened the forum and closed it after noting no attendees came forward.
Minutes and any formal actions taken during the closed session will be recorded in accordance with applicable law and board policy, where required.
