The Willington School Building Committee scheduled community outreach and board briefings Friday as it advances site evaluation work for a proposed school.
Committee President James Marshall told members he will brief the Board of Selectmen on Monday and that the committee has a senior‑center presentation and Q&A set for Tuesday, July 14 at 6 p.m. Marshall said the committee also plans to staff an information table at the town's summer concert series on Wednesdays in July and the first two weeks of August so residents can ask questions and learn about the project.
Marshall said the committee is coordinating the outreach with the architectural and OPM teams and that members should advise availability for coverage. He also told members the SBC is scheduled on the Board of Finance agenda for Thursday, July 16 to present preliminary financing structure and seek feedback from that board and the committee's financial advisor.
A previously planned library engagement for July 15 conflicted with a town meeting; committee members said they will reschedule a late‑July community event and will invite architecture and project management staff to attend. Marshall framed the outreach as an effort to keep town boards and residents informed while the committee completes due diligence tasks such as geotechnical borings and test-pit coordination.
The committee's next regular meeting is July 13, when members expect to review geotechnical quotes and next steps for site investigation.
