Board announces public hearing on district safety plan; no community questions at meeting

The board of education of Valley Stream Union Free School District 24 opened a public hearing on the district safety plan and invited community questions. Board President Annette Matthew asked whether anyone in the community had questions about the plan; no members of the public spoke.

"It's on our website if you need any further detail," Matthew said, and the board stated the plan will be adopted at the next business meeting when the school year begins. No substantive comments, objections or proposed revisions were recorded on the transcript.

Following the hearing announcement the board moved into an executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters and then adjourned. Formal adoption of the safety plan was scheduled for the next business meeting per the board’s statement during the hearing.
