Surf Rider chapter opens new lab at Yacht Hampton to expand water testing capacity

The Eastern Long Island chapter of the Surf Rider Foundation announced it has opened a new lab at Yacht Hampton to support its Bluewater Task Force, the broadcast reported.

The partnership is intended to reduce travel time from sampling sites to testing facilities, improving efficiency and capacity for volunteers and staff who test bays, ponds and beaches for harmful bacteria. Yacht Hampton said on social media that it was "excited to be a part of the team now" and looked forward to supporting East End water protection efforts.

The segment named partner organizations in the Bluewater Task Force and described the lab expansion as a local improvement in water-quality monitoring; no grant amounts or operating budgets were cited in the broadcast.
