Carrie Kenny of Franklin County Human Resources reported to commissioners that the county's June dress-down fundraiser raised $685. "We raised $685 for the cause," Kenny said, adding that staff sold 137 sticker sets across 22 departments and that this amount was about $100 more than the previous year.
Representatives Jess and Arcadia of the Boys and Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg thanked county employees for the donation. "We like to help raise good humans and be the village for the families in our community," one representative said, summarizing the Club's mission to provide after-school programs, leadership and mentorship for children.
Kenny also described the Club's summer program schedule and invited commissioners to visit the facility. Commissioners praised the county's employees for their regular contributions, and one commissioner said they would coordinate a visit with the housing authority board to see how the facility arrangement is working.
The presentation concluded with a photo and applause for the club representatives and county staff.
