Shawnee County Treasurer Susan Duffy asked the commission to approve Contract C550‑2025 to replace the county’s current front‑counter payment vendor with PayIt, enabling full card acceptance and mobile wallet payments for customers at the courthouse and clerk’s office. The board approved the vendor change by unanimous voice vote.
Duffy also provided tax‑collection statistics. According to her report, as of Oct. 31 approximately 6% of 2024 parcels—about 77,000 parcels—remained unpaid on the first installment, amounting to roughly $7.5 million. For the later May installment the transcript records a remaining balance of about $136.7 million, representing roughly 25% of parcels; Duffy said those figures are in line with recent years.
Duffy announced the treasurer’s offices and motor vehicle offices will be closed Dec. 31 for year‑end processing and reminded residents to make payments before the closure.
The board approved Contract C550‑2025 (vendor change to PayIt) 3-0.
The treasurer’s figures reported at the meeting reflect collections across all taxing entities (city, townships, school districts and other taxing jurisdictions), not Shawnee County’s share alone.
