Douglasville outlines summer events, amphitheater lineup and senior ticketing process

Douglasville officials detailed a summer slate of events and explained how the city's Greystone Amphitheater ticketing and senior-ticket programs work.

Assistant Conference Center and Tourism Director Samantha Rosado described core events and venues: the Church Street Farmers Market runs Tuesdays from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Douglasville Town Green; Wednesday Wind Down concerts run through July 1 with a DJ at 6:00 p.m. and live music beginning at 7:00 p.m.; and the city staged Goals on the Green World Cup watch parties with additional dates scheduled for July 1, July 7 and July 15.

Rosado detailed how the operation is funded and staffed: "So, we collect 8%. 3% goes back to the city's general fund. 1 and 1/2% pays for the debt services at the conference center ... and then we get another 3 and 1/2% and that pays for tourism, conventions, and trade shows," she said, explaining that much of the amphitheater and welcome‑center programming is paid through hotel‑motel tax revenue rather than general-resident taxes.

The episode reviewed amphitheater ticketing rules: large Greystone concerts are free but require Eventbrite tickets; hosts advised listeners to be ready when tickets are released because many users access Eventbrite simultaneously. Practical tips included setting an Eventbrite reminder and refreshing if pages stall. The hosts said registrants may claim up to two tickets; waitlist notifications typically release a single ticket that must be claimed within 24 hours.

Senior-ticketing was described as an in-person benefit: on some ticket-release days, a limited number of tickets are available earlier for seniors at City Hall (the hosts provided the address as 6758 Spring Street). Staff will confirm eligibility (residency within city limits and proof of age, 65+) and email claimed tickets to the recipient.

Local organizers also highlighted vendor participation (food trucks and local vendors at watch parties) and that many events use existing Town Green infrastructure so incremental city expenses are small. No admission fees were announced; large concerts require free Eventbrite tickets for capacity control.
