Nevada State Railroad Museum curator invites visitors to see historic equipment and exhibits

Adamski, curator of history at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, invited listeners to visit the museum in Carson City at 2180 South Carson Street and described its offerings. "We're open Thursday through Monday 9 to 4:30 p.m.; adults are $10 and kids are free," Adamski said, noting that those 17 and under receive free admission.

The curator said the museum houses 19th‑century railroad equipment and occasionally operates vintage train rides on restored Virginia and Truckee Railroad equipment that formerly ran between Reno, Carson City and Virginia City. Adamski suggested combining a museum visit with nearby local sites, including Bowers Mansion, to get a fuller sense of the region’s transportation and settlement history.

The museum’s visitor information, including hours and admission, was presented as guidance for residents and visitors planning heritage tourism tied to Nevada 250 programming.
