Board approves extension of Interim Health of Wichita contract for public-health staffing

Sedgwick County's Board of Bids and Contracts on July 2 approved a change order to extend a temporary-staffing contract with Interim Health of Wichita Inc. through Sept. 30, 2026. Tammy Cully, speaking on behalf of the Health Department, said the extension will help maintain "regular timely and reliable staffing" to support community health services.

"This extension will allow temporary staff to support women, infants and children and help manage care for patients with latent TB infection, active TB and suspected TB through comprehensive assessments, patient education [and] ongoing case management," Cully said. She told the board the county's public-health and behavioral-health services serve more than 525,000 residents and that temporary staffing helps ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and state and local health regulations.

A member moved to accept the change order and another seconded. The board approved the motion by roll call: Tim Myers, Brandy Bailey, Philip DeBold and Corey Stokes all voted aye. No votes against or abstentions were recorded. The action formally extends the county's temporary-staffing contract to maintain continuity of care while regular hiring and scheduling proceed.

The meeting then moved on to other procurement items.
