Leaport County licensing panels on July 2 carried a batch of routine alcoholic beverage permit renewals and handled an application continuance after an applicant failed to post the required public notice sign.
On Board Two the chair announced automatic renewals including Smutzers Club Tavern (DBA) and Trtorio Enzos; board members moved, seconded and the renewals carried. Board Two also approved its June minutes. Later the panel identified and approved a separate set of automatic renewals on Board One covering a number of Michigan City establishments, including Long Beach Country Club, Blue Chip Casino, Michigan City municipal golf courses, KR2 Wine and Spirits, Zorn Brew Works and others; those renewals were moved, seconded and recommended for renewal.
An application for RH4630425 (referred to in the transcript as "Home to Suit") appeared but the applicant, Anton Davidson, acknowledged the required orange notice sign had not been posted in a location visible from the roadway. The chair continued the item to the Aug. 6 meeting and instructed the applicant to post the sign and bring the affidavit confirming the posting; the continuation carried.
Board members briefly discussed packet materials and the state-imposed question set that applicants now must answer under oath. No violations were cited for the renewals recorded in the transcript. Both boards adjourned after completing their business.
