The Brookfield Select Board voted July 1 to approve a renewed license for Apple Country Radio and accepted four payments from the station to resolve the prior year license and utility obligations.
Blake told the board he had met with Sharon, tracked changes into the license and sent the updated draft for review. "I updated the license document with those changes," Blake said, and Sharon confirmed she and Blake had reached agreement on the terms. The revised license shifts the term to July 1–June 30 to align with the town fiscal year.
Sharon delivered four checks at the meeting: a $1 license fee for the current year, a $1 check for the prior year license, a check covering back utility fees through June 30, and a check for $175 for July utilities. A board member moved to accept the license as presented; members discussed verifying insurance coverage annually and whether the board should consider crediting the station in a future meeting for improvements the station made to the space.
Outcome: the board approved the license and accepted the payments; staff will circulate the final signed agreement to the parties and will follow up annually on insurance verification and bring any crediting proposal back to the board for consideration.
