Resident Joel Wahling asks council to clear tree piles and address ROW trees

Joel Wahling spoke during the Public Forum at the Shelby City Council’s Jan. 7 meeting to raise three maintenance concerns affecting City Farm and a city right-of-way.

Wahling asked whether the Fire Department would be willing to burn two large tree piles on City Farm; the minutes record that Chief Frank said he will assess the tree piles and reply to Wahling. Wahling also asked about placing fence posts at City Farm by Barretts and inquired about tree removal in the right-of-way at the end of Plateau Street. The minutes note those requests but do not record a firm timetable or commitment beyond Chief Frank’s assessment.
