Cabell County Commission unanimously approves routine budget, personnel and procurement items; item #113 stricken

The Cabell County Commission on July 14 approved a series of routine administrative, budgetary and personnel actions in unanimous votes.

The commission approved purchase orders and pay jackets, minutes from May 26 and June 9, erroneous assessments, land consolidations, split tickets, probate documentation, handwritten checks and ACH drafts for claims and administration costs. Commissioners also approved County Budget Revision #1 and an amendment to County Budget Revision #17 (FY 2015–2016). Item #113 (State Budget Revision #1) was stricken from the agenda before the meeting proceeded.

Personnel actions approved included the employment of Jeremy Wayne Wren as a full‑time paramedic, effective July 15, 2016, at a rate of $12.5317 per hour, and the hiring of three temporary full‑time telecommunicators—Larisa Kay Blankenship, Michael Lyle Bowyer and Shawn Edward Smith—effective July 14, 2016, at $12.07 per hour. The commission also appointed Scott Eplin to the Cabell/Wayne Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).

The commission accepted a legal services contract from Flynn, Max, Miller, L.C., for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program acquisition grant and approved an advertisement for an invitation to bid for asbestos inspection in three dwellings in the Barboursville area. Commissioners also approved Coal Severance Budget Revision #1 and accepted the county clerk’s letter regarding Coal Severance Fund carryover for FY 2015–2016.

The commission voted to enter executive session at 10:22 a.m. to discuss litigation and returned to regular session at 11:05 a.m. with no action taken. President Anne Yon adjourned the meeting at 11:25 a.m.
