Board to pursue meeting with Lamer’s Bus Lines; scholarship draft sent for community foundation input

During Old Business at the Dec. 8 meeting, the Arvon Township School Board set next steps on transportation and scholarship work.

The board directed the transportation committee to meet via Zoom after Dec. 13, and then to meet with Lamer’s Bus Lines in a separate Zoom session. Diane Paulsen was asked to contact Lamer’s to arrange a meeting with Jon Evenson; minutes record that the district has not yet received a response to its previous letter to Lamer’s.

On scholarship work, the board reviewed a draft developed by a committee and asked Linda Griffith to contact Gordette Cote at the Baraga County Community Foundation with a list of questions from the committee.

The board also agreed to defer a decision on whether to add heat tape from Northland Basement Systems until it can be evaluated in a few months.
