Hinsdale finance panel schedules April 23 budget vote after department briefings

The Hinsdale Finance Committee and Select Board met jointly March 7 to review departmental budget requests and set a timetable that will culminate in a vote on the proposed fiscal 2026 budget on April 23 at 6:00 p.m.

Minutes from the session list presentations from the Cemetery Committee (Dan Kaufman); the Department of Public Works and Water/Sewer (Jamie Callahan); Fire Chief Ralph Cormier; Treasurer/Collector Lynne Baumgartner; Town Clerk Dawn Frissell; the Library (Sarah Welch and Viv Mason); Assessors Laura Galliher and Viv Mason; and a summary of other town accounts from Town Administrator Bob Graves.

According to the minutes, the committee scheduled several meetings to review departmental requests in advance of the April 23 joint vote. The approved budget is slated to go to legal review on April 24, 2026, and the Select Board is set to approve the warrant for posting on April 27 at 4:00 p.m. The Annual Town Meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Kittredge School; the minutes list the start time as to be announced.

Procedural business concluded with a motion to adjourn, which the minutes record as passed unanimously at 2:31 p.m. The minutes also record the next meeting of the committee on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Town Hall.
