York City requires online residential parking permit applications for York Fair, July 24–Aug. 2

Mayor Walker and city parking officials announced that residential parking permits for the York Fair, set for July 24–Aug. 2, 2026, will require online applications beginning July 1.

Patrell Barnes, the parking bureau manager, said, "This year, our biggest update is that all residential parking permit requests must be submitted online for better tracking." Barnes gave residents a city portal and said applications open July 1.

Barnes said the permits are "completely free." She said applicants will receive a notification when a request is approved and must bring current proof of address to pick up their permits. Pickup is available at the treasurer's office in City Hall between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., or at the police station from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Barnes advised that households are limited to a maximum of two resident permits and two visitor permits. Mayor Walker introduced the announcement and handed the briefing to Barnes before closing with, "I'll see you at the fair."

Applications are available beginning July 1 at the city's permit portal: yorkpa.portal.opengov.com. Residents who live near the York Fairgrounds should apply early to ensure timely pickup before the event.
