Madison County fiscal court approves year-end transfers and claims

Madison County Fiscal Court on June 30 unanimously approved motions to adopt the June 23 meeting minutes and to authorize year-end transfers and payment of claims for fiscal 2025–2026.

Court members moved and seconded approval of the minutes and the transfers. A roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from the members present and the measures were adopted without dissent. The approvals were procedural steps to close the county's fiscal year and to allow staff to complete accounting and payment processes tied to the budget cycle.

The court noted the approvals were routine housekeeping tied to the fiscal-year close and then shifted the meeting to an extended briefing on damage and response after a weekend flooding event that impacted parts of the county. No amendments or substantive policy changes were attached to the transfers approved at the session.

The court adjourned the fiscal business portion of the agenda and continued the meeting with emergency-management and response updates.
