Stonington secures expanded kayak access at Webb's Cove after agreement with Ramos family

The Selectmen recorded an agreement that expands kayak access at the south end of Webb's Cove after the property owners identified as the Ramos family granted permission. Town Manager Billings said the Ramos family agreed to allow use of the lower boat launch near the tin building and additional space at the south end to accommodate kayaks and related parking.

Selectman John Robbins offered to help organize cleanup and grading so the area can be made safe and usable for kayak users. The board also discussed signage and gate maintenance to keep the area orderly once in use.

The minutes indicate volunteers and guides may be recruited to monitor the space and help keep it clean. The action preserves public access for non-motorized small craft while the town confirms precise boundary lines and any related permitting or maintenance responsibilities.
