Staff told the Board that an item of old business will return on the July 7 agenda: resolution R26112 would authorize a non‑binding letter of intent with the Garland County Library to explore creating a new main library at 100 Park Avenue.
City Manager Bill Burl said the Board previously received a letter of intent that was tabled while staff developed an option B. The option B offer from the library is for a $2.35 million purchase price subject to contingencies: voter approval of a ballot measure to provide necessary funding, and city approvals of applicable zoning and site plans. The offer, as drafted, includes an exhibit with site plans and would expire on July 22 if not accepted prior to that date.
Burl said the packet for the July 7 meeting will include the offer and exhibits; Board members had no substantive questions at the agenda review beyond confirming the contingencies and expiration date. The resolution will be for Board consideration at the next formal meeting.
