The Tuscaloosa City Council approved multiple permits that will allow Bario Fiesta Mexican Grill to operate live entertainment and serve alcohol.
Staff presented three related applications from GF Property LLC doing business as Bario Fiesta Mexican Grill at 514 14th Street: an entertainment license, conditional bar/restaurant use and a restaurant retail liquor license. Miss Franks summarized the applicant’s filings, occupancy (capped at 135) and hours: Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–10 p.m.
Applicant Ann Gangao told the council the restaurant is planning to open in the later part of July and discussed the outdoor patio work. Council members asked about sound and other operational matters; the applicant agreed to keep sound at reasonable levels. Officer Champion of the Tuscaloosa Police Department said the department had no objections.
After a public hearing with no speakers in opposition, the council moved, seconded and approved the three actions: entertainment license, conditional bar use and restaurant retail liquor license.
Council recorded affirmative votes for each motion on the transcript. The approvals allow the business to offer live music and on-premises alcohol sales subject to the city’s operational rules and any conditions noted in the applicant’s permits.
