The Shelby City Council approved the purchase of a new ambulance from Braun Northwest, Inc. for $301,341 during a special noon session Dec. 4.
Council member Pat Honeywell moved to approve the purchase; Council member Karen Schlueter seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all ayes. Mayor Ron Kroll asked whether any council members had conflicts of interest before the vote; none were declared.
According to the action recorded in the session minutes, the city plans to apply some Fire/Amb savings toward the purchase and bond the remainder of the cost. The minutes also state the city will pursue options that could yield a total of about $6,000 in discounts.
Earlier in the brief session the council approved the Dec. 4 agenda on a motion by Honeywell and seconded by Schlueter. The meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
City Clerk Chris Martin signed the session record.
