Bremer County supervisors authorized staff to award contracts for installing two pre-purchased air handlers as part of the courthouse remodel phase one work.
Scott Laroo, the county's GIS/maintenance lead who presented the item, identified the low-bid components for HVAC work, electrical installation and roof flashing/steel: air services for HVAC, Tetro Electric for electrical work and SDG for roof flashing and associated steel work. Laroo said the units were purchased in phase one and held in storage; installation scheduling targets the fall—"Octoberish, November"—to avoid summer cooling season and accommodate long lead times for steel and electrical components.
Board members approved the bid awards by voice vote and asked staff to provide a follow-up briefing with a firm schedule once parts arrive. Laroo warned that part of the courthouse parking lot will likely be closed during the set and that contractors will inspect stored units prior to installation to confirm their condition.
The board also discussed phase-two fencing options and camera/door-access projects for other facilities; staff will solicit alternate quotes for fencing after an initial estimate proved high.
