Treasurer recommends using ARPA funds for roof; board approves map purchase and routine motions

Treasurer Dale Marie Brubaker reported the township's general fund balance at $273,556.00 and an ARPA fund balance of $86,565.30, and she told the board she believes the township hall roof needs replacement and would be appropriate to fund with ARPA dollars.

Brubaker said tax collection is progressing well and that she is seeking a new deputy treasurer after the prior deputy moved away. The clerk reported that Seeley and Son completed tree removal and cleanup at Blossom and North Cemeteries.

Clerk Marjorie Whitcomb also noted that new Branch County plat books are printed and that large maps are available for $267.00. Board member Haack moved to purchase one 36" x 36" laminated map for the township office; Brott seconded and the motion passed.

Whitcomb reported an insurance settlement of $2,629.65 for damage to fuel tanks and a fence; repairs are underway. Robbins moved to approve the June 6, 2023 minutes (Brott seconded); the motion passed. Robbins later moved to pay bills (Brott seconded) and Brubaker moved to adjourn (Robbins seconded); both motions passed and the meeting adjourned at 9:16 p.m.

The board did not vote on a roof replacement or ARPA appropriation at the meeting; Brubaker's suggestion will inform future budget discussions.
