Council approves release of RFP for new bill-tracking system, responses due July 31

The Legislative Coordinating Council voted to release a request for proposals (RFP) for a new bill-tracking system, setting a July 31 deadline for responses and scheduling review of proposals at the council's August meeting.

Alta Houdin, identified in the meeting as the legislative branch chief technology officer, told members the RFP was developed after interviews with multiple vendors, consultations with legislative members and staff, and review of a prior RFP. Houdin said the document is ready to be released pending LCC approval.

Under the schedule presented, responses to the RFP must be returned by July 31; the council plans to consider proposals in August and begin the vendor selection process shortly thereafter. Majority Leader Blazy moved to allow the RFP to go out; Minority Leader Woodard seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.

The council recorded the timeline for procurement: release upon approval, responses due July 31, review in August and selection work to begin immediately after the response deadline.
