Broken Bow council approves $159,900 purchase of Paoli 1999 Pierce SkyArm firetruck

The City of Broken Bow Council on April 13 approved the purchase of a 1999 Pierce Dash 100' SkyArm aerial firetruck from the Paoli (Pa.) Fire Company for $159,900.

City Administrator Dan Knoell and Fire Chief Jason Baum presented the truck’s documentation and described features the vehicle provides that the city’s existing aerial truck lacks. They reviewed maintenance and certification records provided by Paoli and outlined transport costs and funding options for the purchase.

Councilmember Larry Miller moved to adopt Resolution 2021-7 to purchase the truck and pay the Paoli Fire Company invoice; Councilmember David Schmidt seconded the motion. The roll-call vote recorded Councilmembers David Schmidt, Larry Miller and Jacob Holcomb voting aye. The motion carried.

The invoice for the Paoli unit was listed in meeting materials and was the item previously excepted from the consent agenda. The council did not specify in the minutes any funding source breakdown beyond noting the purchase and approving payment. The council adjourned at 6:31 p.m.
