The Broken Bow City Council on Feb. 23, 2021 approved a set of procedural items including a board appointment and a liquor manager application.
On a motion by Councilmember Larry Miller, seconded by Councilmember Chris Myers, the council approved Resolution 2021-4 authorizing City Administrator Dan Knoell to serve as director to the MEAN Board of Directors and Electric Superintendent Blake Waldow as the alternate director. The roll call vote was recorded as Ayes: David Schmidt, Chris Myers, Larry Miller and Jacob Holcomb; Nays: None.
Separately, the council approved a New Corporate Manager application to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission for Craig A. Safranek at G4C LLC dba Cobblestone Hotel & Suites/One Box Convention Center. The motion (moved by David Schmidt and seconded by Jacob Holcomb) carried with Schmidt, Holcomb and Miller voting aye and Councilmember Chris Myers recorded as abstaining.
The minutes show department head updates were given by Electric Superintendent Blake Waldow; Water/Sewer Superintendent Craig Cranwell; Streets/Parks Overseer Darren Marten; Emergency Services Director Andy Holland; Library Director Megan Svoboda; and Police Chief Steve Scott. The minutes do not provide details of those updates beyond noting that the updates were given.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved the consent agenda, which included the Feb. 9, 2021 minutes and Bills to Date totaling $44,624.92.
