Mike Stuart of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Allen Davis of the FBI presented awards to local and regional law-enforcement personnel at the Cabell County Commission meeting on Nov. 12, 2020. Stuart recognized Jacob Bailey and Mike Siebel for their roles in an undercover operation connected with Border Ice Patrol and also presented Cabell County officers James Johnston II and Jared Cremeans with Valor Awards.
Allen Davis of the FBI described the operation as "very dangerous," saying it began in January 2017 and "spanned from California, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, New York and Georgia." Mike Stuart told commissioners and attendees, "We all thank our officers for the work they do and the sacrifices they make each day." These remarks were made during the segment of the meeting reserved for registered speakers and presentations.
The awards were presented as part of the meeting's public recognitions; no formal Commission action or vote was required for the presentations. The Commission proceeded to other agenda items after the honors were presented.
